DEGREN PLUS project partners in Badajoz for the 7th Coordination Meeting and Event on Ecodesign and Circularity

On 17 June, the 7th Coordination Meeting of the Interreg POCTEP Project ‘DEGREN PLUS’, in which Cluster Habitat Sustentável is a partner, was held at the Extremadura Science and Technology Park (FUNDECYT-PCTEX), in Badajoz (Spain).

This meeting served to take stock of the work carried out and the results achieved in the 6 project activities, as well as to define the next steps.

The DEGREN PLUS Workshop on “Ecodesign and Circularity Strategies for Sustainability”, organised by project partners COIIEX and FUNDECYT-PCTEX, took place at the same venue on 18 June. This event, which aimed to boost innovation and sustainability in the EUROACE cross-border region through collaboration between the productive fabric and the technical-scientific system, brought together companies, professionals and sustainability experts to debate and validate concrete eco-design and circularity strategies applicable in a business context.

The event was opened by Patricia Bermejo from COIIEX, followed by a presentation of the DEGREN PLUS project by Raquel Lozano Vázquez from INTROMAC (project leader).

Gorka Arroyo, from IK Ingeniería, then spoke about the strategic role of eco-design in companies, highlighting its ability to improve efficiency, reduce costs and differentiate products or services in the market, illustrating it with examples and real cases.

This was followed by an interactive session in which the participating companies had the opportunity to analyse and apply eco-design strategies to their own specific cases, thus reinforcing the event’s practical approach.

The event was closed by Tomás Roucher, from the University of Extremadura, also a partner in the project, who presented the DEGREN PLUS project’s cycle of demonstration workshops, which will be held later this year to enable companies to collaborate with students and university professors in developing real, innovative and sustainable eco-design solutions.
