Presentation and promotion of the results of the CircularBuild Project at the Lisbon event

On March 16th at 2:30 pm, the CircularBuild Project consortium, of which the Cluster Habitat Sustentável is part of, organised and received more than 70 registered participants in the Project’s Closing Event, which took place at the premises of LNEC – National Civil Engineering Laboratory in Lisbon.

The CircularBuild Project, funded by EEA Grants under the Environment Programme and operated by the General Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Action, had as its main objective, in its closing event, the presentation and promotion of its main results, and also to make known the characteristics and potentialities of the CircularBuild Prefabricated Modular Constructive System, understand its developments and its implementation in the market, for the construction of a Circular and Sustainable Habitat..

 

The opening session was led by Eng. Jorge Patrício (LNEC – Lisbon Civil Engineering Laboratory) representing the President of LNEC, Dr.ª Susana Ramos (Coordinator of the National Focal Point of EEA Grants) and Dr. Susana Escária (Director of the Foresight and Planning Services of the General Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Action).).

 

Arq. Jaime Silva (CONCEXEC – Arquitectura, Lda.) presented the CircularBuild Project, identifying its framework, objectives and main results, while Eng. Armando Pinto (LNEC Lisbon Civil Engineering Laboratory) presented the technical characteristics of the Prefabricated Modular Construction System CircularBuild, addressing the laboratory validation tests that took place during the development of the project, including fire resistance tests, performed in collaboration with the Norwegian laboratory RISE, the validation partner of the project.

 

The event also included the intervention of Marco Ferreira (MODTECH – Sistemas Modulares), addressing the implementation of the CircularBuild System in the national market, as well as the intervention of Professor Victor Ferreira (Cluster Habitat Sustentável), who presented the various challenges of the Green Transition for the Building Solutions, highlighting the role of the Cluster as a partner of the CircularBuild Project.

 

This closing session included a moment of debate and networking between the project’s partners and the participants, and a visit to the CircularBuild Prototype.
