LNEG

Laboratório Nacional de Energia e Geologia, I.P., is a R&D institution, belonging to Ministry of Economy and Employment, with the specific task of bridging over, in scientific terms, to Industry in Energy and Geology areas.

The mission of LNEG it is to promote the technological innovation, centered in Science and Technology activities, having the final objective to increase the enterprises competitiveness, in the Energy and Geology areas and in a sustainable economic development framework.

LNEG carries out technical and scientific activities in the fields of energy and geology with a view to applying them to advanced solutions that can boost the economy.

The participation of LNEG in a number of international projects gives to this Laboratory the quality of a privileged agent of internationalization as well as a specialized source of information in the scientific domain of its activity area. LNEG has also an important role on assisting directly the Government for the public policies on the Energy and Geology areas.

The main research areas of LNEG are: Energy Production (Renewable energy), Energy Efficiency, Innovative Technologies and Strategies, Energy Analysis.

As an R&D institution, LNEG’s primary objective is to carry out research for the needs of society, to support public policies and for economic development.
