Awarded Control Panel by Souto Moura for OLI

The control panel for OLI – Oliveira & Irmão, SA’s interior toilets, designed by architect Souto de Moura, was awarded an honorable mention for the “interconnection between design and industry” at the Tektónica Innovation Award 2012.

The new OLI SM15 panel features a 5mm white tempered glass finish, standing out for its harmonious application on walls covered with traditional Portuguese tiles. It is being used in the new Pousada da Covilhã, a rehabilitation project of the former Serra da Estrela sanatorium, designed by Portuguese architect Souto de Moura, who was awarded the Pritzker Prize in 2011.

Annually, Tektónica, the international construction and public works fair, recognizes the most innovative products recently launched in the construction sector through a jury that this year included representatives from AECOPS (Association of Construction and Public Works Companies), IADE (Institute of Visual Arts, Design and Marketing), LNEC – National Laboratory of Civil Engineering, the Order of Architects, and the Order of Engineers.
