The opening session was led by Prof Victor Ferreira (President of Cluster Habitat Sustentável), who highlighted the importance of sustainability in the Habitat value chain and the need for collaborative initiatives to tackle environmental challenges.
Nelson Ferreira (Bosch Termotecnologia) then presented ‘The challenges of the ILLIANCE Agenda for Sustainability’, highlighting the Agenda’s goals and strategies for promoting energy efficiency and carbon neutrality in buildings, addressing technological advances and the demands of the ever-changing market.
This presentation was followed by a panel, moderated by Cluster Habitat Sustentável, where the workshop’s theme was discussed in more detail. The panel included interventions from Márcia Pereira (Bandora), who highlighted the importance of digitalisation in energy management, Miguel Rocha (CeNTI), who discussed some of the solutions for energy efficiency in buildings, such as i4Roofs, Bruno Lobo (Saint-Gobain Portugal), who presented various sustainable solutions, as well as an analysis of trends in the construction sector and, lastly, Prof. Romeu Vicente (University of Aveiro), who presented the challenges of decarbonising buildings through innovative solutions in materials and construction technologies.
The workshop ended with the closing session, which featured a speech by Dr João Machado (aveiro town hall Councillor), who stressed the importance of reinforcing the city’s and the country’s commitment to sustainability and innovation in the construction and rehabilitation of urban spaces.
