Under the theme ‘How to Calculate Embodied Carbon in Buildings?’, the session focused on the green and digital transition in the Habitat value chain, addressing methodologies and tools for assessing the environmental impact of materials and processes used throughout the life cycle of buildings.
The event was opened by Victor Ferreira (Cluster Habitat Sustentável), who introduced the event, followed by Ana Cláudia Dias (University of Aveiro) who spoke about ‘Global Warming Potential (GWP)’, followed by José Dinis Silvestre (Instituto Superior Técnico) who spoke about ‘Challenges in calculating the carbon footprint of building systems’ and finally Ana Karolina Santos (Cluster Habitat Sustentável) who spoke about ‘How to calculate the carbon footprint of buildings?’. The event ended with a debate between the meeting’s participants.
