With an organisational culture geared towards sustainable development, Corticeira Amorim based its application on its vast portfolio of sustainable cork solutions for the construction sector, on the added value that results from their application and also on the great potential for the application of cork in this sector.
The construction and decorative materials market is one of the most important for the cork sector, accounting for around 23 per cent of total exports. At Corticeira Amorim, the construction area represents approximately one third of the company’s activity, which has three Business Units – Floor and Wall Coverings, Composite Cork and Insulation Cork – responsible for developing products and solutions for this area.
According to Carlos Jesus, from Corticeira Amorim, “this distinction is further recognition of Corticeira Amorim’s work in developing and promoting cork solutions with real added value for the market, and of our continued commitment to adopting and strengthening sustainable development practices.”
Promoted by a series of international partnerships between Corticeira Amorim, the use of cork in architectural works of world renown has resulted in a new positioning and notoriety for this material, as a solution that combines technical performance and sustainable development like no other.
