With the publication of Decree-Law no. 38/2013 of 15 March, which transposes the new EU ETS Directive no. 2009/29/EC (amending Directive 2003/87/EC) on European Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading (EU ETS) into national law, the companies concerned must effectively manage their CO2 emissions.
As well as guaranteeing legal compliance, effective management of CO2 emissions provides advantageous strategies for reducing emissions, with financial gains for companies. As part of this process there are various legal obligations to fulfil and to support companies the CTCV has prepared a Training Course on ‘CELE – European Emissions Trading Scheme’. The course provides a framework for and introduces the operating rules of the EU ETS, covers the main monitoring rules for the period and explains the methodology for calculating CO2 emissions using practical examples.
Participants are expected to acquire the necessary knowledge to respond to the new requirements of the 2013-2020 EU ETS and understand the best practices for the strategic management of greenhouse gas emissions.
