InovaDomus Gives a Future to the Homes of the Past

InovaDomus – Association for the Development of the House of the Future is developing the rehabilitation project “Cooperate to Rehabilitate,” funded by the National Strategic Reference Framework (QREN).

This project is integrated into a broader rehabilitation program that involves the renovation of a residential building in cooperation with associates. The intention is to develop and apply rehabilitation techniques that ensure that the reconstructed buildings exhibit functional characteristics equivalent to newly built structures, with the goal of “Giving a Future to the Homes of the Past.”

The new program aims at two main lines of action: the network cooperation among companies in the housing ‘cluster’ to develop skills and business opportunities in the field of urban regeneration and the creation of the “Reabilita concept by InovaDomus,” a plan for best practices in the rehabilitation of existing buildings that will be applied to a pilot house.

This action will result in a guide of best practices for the rehabilitation of the existing housing stock that should be useful, simple, practical, and representative of the common issues and solutions.

With this initiative, InovaDomus seeks to anticipate market trends, stimulate innovation among the various companies within the housing cluster, and contribute to the development of the national economy in a context where urban rehabilitation is a priority for the construction and real estate sectors.
