As part of the partnership between Amorim Isolamentos and Gyptec Ibérica, another innovative product for the rehabilitation market is being launched: the Composite Board – GYPCORK.
The new board, with integrated cork insulation, aims to respond to the growing need for sustainable products and systems that contribute to greater energy efficiency. During the development of the “Gyptec + Lambourdé” System, characterized by the application of expanded cork agglomerate boards with two embedded wood strips, onto which laminated gypsum boards are fixed, the need arose to optimize this solution, making it even easier and faster to apply.
The GYPCORK board combines two excellent national products: Gyptec’s laminated gypsum boards, produced using eco-friendly raw materials and non-polluting methods, and the expanded cork agglomerate, which provides excellent thermal and acoustic insulation produced by Amorim Isolamentos, through a 100% natural and waste-free process.
With high thermal and acoustic performance for indoor application, GYPCORK is a low embodied energy product, with a high percentage of by-products from other industries and renewable materials that contribute to CO2 absorption.
This new multi-layer constructive solution for walls, utilizing sustainable by-products, results from the study that Gyptec Ibérica is conducting with the Institute for Research and Technological Development in Construction Sciences (ITeCons), under the scope of a Research and Technological Development Grant.
This new product, developed in-house by Gyptec Ibérica, meets the requirements of standard EN-14190.
