Project Overview:
The project aims to develop an innovative process for the recovery of exhausted pickling baths from the galvanizing industry.
Through a combination of liquid-liquid extraction, crystallization and electrolysis technologies, among others, the aim is to recover zinc, iron and HCl from the exhausted baths.
There is a growing trend to use galvanized steel structures in construction, due to their corrosion resistance and resistance to transport and handling. By proposing the treatment and recovery of by-products from the industrial galvanizing process, the project contributes to the environmental sustainability of this industry and the resulting products.
