Solar Tube – 100% Natural Lighting

The Chatron Solar Tube is a lighting system in which natural light is captured and directed through a tube lined on the inside with a highly reflective material, which minimises the scattering of light and allows natural light to be delivered over considerable distances without transferring heat or cold.

Chatron Solar Tubes can be installed seamlessly on any type of roof on domestic or industrial buildings. Chatron offers a wide range of roof mounting systems that adapt to the specific characteristics of the building, and its Solar Tubes are certified under the European Technical Assessment (ETA) for aspects such as watertightness, wind resistance, sound insulation and thermal transmittance.

Chatron Domes – Impact-Resistant

The top of Chatron’s Solar Tubes is made from high-impact polycarbonate and has a pyramidal shape, which allows it to maximise the capture of natural light, even when the sun is low in the sky.

They were subjected to impact resistance assessment tests carried out at the ITECONS-certified laboratory, in accordance with standard EN 1873:2014+A1:2016, and achieved favourable results. This is a key feature that sets Chatron domes apart from other products on the market, which are made of acrylic and are therefore much more brittle.

This pyramid-shaped dome provides effective filtration against UV and IR radiation and requires virtually no maintenance, as its geometric shape allows it to clean itself naturally through weather conditions such as wind and rain.

FireShield Solar Tube – Fire-resistant for indoor and outdoor use

Chatron’s FireShield Solar Tube has been designed to offer maximum fire resistance, with Broof (t1) certification for the exterior and A1 certification for the interior.

On the exterior, it features the “SafeProof Dome” – a pyramid-shaped polycarbonate dome comprising laminated toughened glass and aluminium connecting fittings – which has been awarded Broof (t1) certification in accordance with standard EN 13501-5:2016. On the inside, the system includes a diffuser with an aluminium frame and opal glass, both with an A1 fire resistance rating. This combination of materials ensures maximum protection and efficiency in capturing and diffusing natural light with complete safety.

This distinction sets Chatron’s product apart from others on the market.

Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for Chatron Solar Tubes

Chatron has developed Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for two of its solar tube models: the TS350 and TS750. In the case of the domestic model, the TS350, its global warming potential is significantly lower than that of the only competitor on the market with an EPD developed and verified by a third party. For the industrial model TS750, Chatron is the only manufacturer with the product’s environmental footprint assessed through its verified EPD.

These declarations are extremely important for the future of construction, which is becoming increasingly sustainable, and help to contribute to environmental certifications for buildings, such as BREEAM, LEED, WELL or LiderA.
