The presentations of the entities participating in the Technical Seminars on Environmental Awareness held on June 14 at the headquarters of FUNDECYT-PCTEx, are now available for companies and technical profiles in the areas of engineering, architecture, industrial design, biology, energy and environment as well like all those interested in aspects that impact on the production and design of products from the perspective of the life cycle.
INTERNATIONAL SPECIALISTS ON ECODESIGN
Speakers invited to the conference from across the peninsula agreed to emphasize the importance of incorporating the environmental component into the product design process.
Thus, Cristina Sousa Rocha, from the Energy and Geology Laboratory (LNEG) of Portugal, addressed in her presentation the increase in product durability, conceived in the circular economy model as a way to reduce environmental impacts and, at the same time, generate positive economic and social impacts.
The researcher Joan Rieradevall Pons, from the Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technologies (ICTA), presented practical examples of eco-innovation of products applied to the urban environment. During his speech, he showed the results of research projects in which the environmental perspective has been applied to the design of products and services framed in a future “sustainable city”.
The last intervention was carried out by Rubén Carnerero, from IK Engineering, who highlighted the importance of incorporating strategic lines of eco-innovation in the production processes, as well as evaluation tools such as Life Cycle Analysis in the production of environmental and economic benefits in the company.
Presentations for this day are now available in the Events section of the web.
