Umbelino Monteiro organized yet another seminar dedicated to heritage rehabilitation, entitled “30 Years of Rehabilitation with History.”

Following the success of the Leiria edition, the city of Guimarães hosted the 2nd seminar, which took place on June 28th at the Palace of the Dukes of Bragança.

The seminar had around 60 participants who attended various presentations on topics such as “The Present and Future of Urban Rehabilitation in the City of Guimarães”; “The Rehabilitation of Roofs in Historical Buildings”; “The Rehabilitation of the Roof of the Alberto Sampaio Museum”; “The Rehabilitation of Built Heritage and the Importance of Roofing”; “Sustainable Roofs in the 21st Century.”

After lunch, there was a historical tour of the city of Guimarães, with a guided visit to the Palace of the Dukes of Bragança, the Alberto Sampaio Museum, the Church of Our Lady of Oliveira, and Vila Flor Palace, concluding with a sunset cocktail at the Vila Flor Restaurant.

Heritage rehabilitation is a vital aspect of culture for the preservation of history and the identity of a people. With these 30 years of acquired experience, UMBELINO MONTEIRO aims to bring the topic of historical rehabilitation to analysis and reflection.
